Batman bitch-slaps Trump

Batman is truly on to something here...

Hemp toilet paper SAVES 10 MILLION Trees per year

This clearly is the solution to needless tree/lumber consumption for the production of paper products. LET'S SAVE THE FORESTS PEOPLE!! Come on!

You can't grow a tree in five months (or even five years (or ten years!!))but you can renew hemp plants thrice every year.

This NEEDS TO HAPPEN!!

Save the Forests! Save our Oxygen supply. Save our TREES!!! Hemp is renewable thrice a year. Let's make this a new GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL priority!!

Beauty After the Hurricane...

My colleague/producer/friend's home and life was ravished by Florida's Hurricane Michael a week and a half ago. Floods and outrageous winds. She was of course Federally Mandated to evacuate, like more than 2Million others.... What an upside down week for her. But perhaps now that it has dispersed...this resulting, beautiful shell-filled beach may be an uplifting sight for her!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day & Selma...

To honor Martin Luther King Jr. yesterday, we watched Selma.

Oscar clean-up last year, is likely a movie you watched 12 months or longer ago. But this movie is worth a second viewing. I simply love this man; his devotion; his depth, his passion, his strength and his faith. What a great man of God and what a great human-being.

It is always a tough reminder to see the various struggles the then called, Negroes, went through to earn simple everyday rights which we as North Americans, now, so frequently take for granted. So much bloodshed and determination which fought for these rights.

Plan B, Cloud Eight, Celador, Pathe and Harpo Films – hat goes off to each of you. What a stunningly wonderful movie.

I realize this film's greatness is older news now, but in light of the holiday yesterday, I felt it was certainly worth a mention. An absolutely fabulous film. Worth another watch!!

Happy belated birthday, Martin and continued rest in peace.

The Leftovers - A Must SEE!!

Shocking, stunning, outrageous, stupendous: This show is inside of my head.

If you haven't seen The Leftovers yet, you absolutely NEED to watch this television show!!

I just got off a first season binge and HOLY CRAP, this post-rapture-ish drama is blowing my mind. This is a serious MUST see; and if you already are on board, well, I’m so glad to have joined in. (Thank you Trevor Noah, for your interview with Regina King, November 5th, to tip me off about the program. Now, I am hooked.

Warning, not child friendly, so be ready for some

really over the top perspectives on a potential reality for the planet (mankind) which has been considered as possible for millennia. Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, creators of this mysterious and exhilarating series drama, depict precisely what the world could be like in the event of a Sudden Departure…again, this will blow your mind!!

This certainly will become a thought-provoking cult classic, to be watched over and again.

Tune in to HBO or net streams for The Leftovers. You will never be the same…

Seth Rogen, pot, not...

Just for the record Seth Rogen’s spin on Vancouver’s weed culture – is warp>>>!! As in: No Way, mofo.
I love you Seth, but not even close. 9suckit0

ie: Vancouver potheads are not successful filmmakers, or successful anything, really... Seth Rogen is an exception and likely doesn't smoke quite the amount of weed that he suggests he does...

PS:  I love you, Seth Rogen! especially in The End of The World... (best funny movie ever... [2013] - review to follow soon.

Hot Celebs on Strombo!

LOOK WHO’S IN THE RED CHAIR:
I’ve spent the last few days catching up on George Stroumboulopoulos: The Hour from CBC. This has to be the best Canadian Broadcasting material I’ve seen to date!! Kudos to Toronto and Canada for this show.

Over the last five years George has interviewed politicians, activists, environmentalists, celebrities, actors and musicians and his interviews are the most well-researched I’ve seen since Barbara Walters! His line of questioning is fast and furious, but funny, intimate and surprizing. The shows I watched over the last two days were with celebrities, actors and a few musicians. I highly recommend you travel to the YouTube site: Hot Celebs on Strombo! and check it out.

Watching back over the last six years allowed me to see the same people interviewed once or a few times, which provided a cool evolution of the person’s career, personal life topics and then and now current projects. Among those I watched were Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Matthew McConaughey, Gene Simmons, Edward Norton, Matt Damon, Pink, Slash, Will Ferrell, David Spade, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Hugh Jackman, Anil Kapoor, Daniel Radcliffe, Jack Gyllenhaal, Giovanni Ribisi, Jodi Foster, Marisa Tomei, Anna Kendrick, Ted Danson, John Cusack, Sebastian Bach, Gerard Butler, Mark Wahlberg, Zach Galifianakis, Quentin Tarantino, Tom Cruise and Woody Harrelson!

What a line-up of great interviews with interesting people. Thanks George – you nailed it…I love watching everybody in the Red Chair. Check out the the Top 49 on my site – Hot Celebs on Strombo!
One warning – after watching this, I really don’t like David Spade or Sebastian Bach anymore…Sorry guys, you sorta suck.

Afghanistan

http://youtu.be/u0phY-XgB2Y

Afghanistan - an original song I wrote a few years back, which I think will touch the hearts of everyone listening! Including veterans, soldiers and patriots.

The song was inspired by the Winter Olympics hosted in Vancouver in 2010 where I was privileged to see every nation and country of our planet gather together in solidarity for a peaceful purpose - sporting events. It was fabulous to see people from worlds away who previously or even currently were otherwise at war with each other - coming together with a peaceful and common goal. Sporting events! I felt suddenly (again) like the world at war simply made so little sense, when clearly our entire planet would come together like this so peaceably.

My love for this occurrence inspired great hope, but also made me again question the insanity of war. My song, Afghanistan is inspired by these thoughts and moments.

Warning: The guitar I borrowed that afternoon was a little out of tune, so please bear with me - and also the amateur video is a little shaky - it was recorded last summer on an iPod, by my beautiful 10-year old daughter : )... Voice and venue acoustics sound good though!!! Enjoy & please add comments!!
